Sandhya joined Appletree Psychological Services in Fall 2016 as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has over 15 years of experience working with populations with different age groups and ethnic backgrounds. Sandhya has a wide range of clinical experience including, but not limited to working with children with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED), young adults, and individuals with depression and anxiety.
Sandhya also served as a Site Director and Clinical Supervisor for Mental Health program for Palo Alto Unified School District for 5 years. During that time, she helped start and build counseling programs in several elementary schools and provide mental health support for the community.
She uses a humanistic and experiential approach to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients. Her approach to treatment is Client Centered and also includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She earned her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from San Jose State University. She also has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from India.
